Who says alcohol and college don't mix???
You paid for her college education!
Your 130 "1980 dollars" in 2003 (latest the online calculator would go) would be equivalent to 314.25.
Now, with each bottle (48 total in 4 cases, right?) at 700 bucks. That young lady's gift is worth: 33,600.oo dollars!
But the gift of a college education (if that's what she spends it on) is priceless!
Now, germane to this thread is the answer to which firearms will appreciate strongly. Easy examples are full auto's and pre-bans w/evil features in the pre-awb sunset days. In common to both besides high general demand is that they are both essentially banned. There is a finite amount of them and no more than that available to civillians- essentially a ban.
So the trick would be to look into the future and see which firearms both have lasting desireability AND are likely to be banned by then. I hear the jaded amongst us saying, "They'll all be banned by then..." We'll leave that alone for now.
I would say the next big attack on civillian guns will be on the 50bmg's and 'assault rifles' (again). The 50 is a big investment, but I think it is the most likely to be banned next assuming a new ban is passed. the big 50 is always on the traitor's chopping block. As for the others, its hard to say which semi-auto will be next, or whih group, or all of them. For certain, they will want the AK-style and doubtful that the law will be so specific but I would feel sure that it will at least cover the AK's.
So perhaps a low initial investment in some low-end AK's? maybe the surplus sks's?
Just ideas.
