Show Off Your 45acp

I've only ever owned two 45 ACP guns, but I like the round quite a bit. I had the 1911 for several years, enjoyed shooting it, then got the 97B and ended up selling the 1911 partly because I wasn't shooting it anymore, and partly to justify getting another gun during a self-imposed buy-one, sell-one period. I love the 97B, it's possibly my favorite centerfire semi-auto out of all I've owned or fired, but I probably should have also kept the 1911 just because it's a 1911.

My only 1911 is a .45 ACP.

Took my S&W Shield 2.0 45acp to the range today and I still find it barely acceptable accuracy and consistency. Back in the safe it goes.

So I walked into the gun shop today, wasn't planning to, though I had stuffed 4 $100 bills in my wallet last week thinking I might run across a gun somewhere. Anyway, I am a sucker for .45 ACP metal frame pistols, so this one came up on a consignment sale. They were firm on the price but it was a great deal. Only one magazine, and they gave me a cheap ($9 on Amazon) plastic case, which does the job anyway. But there was no way I was walking out on this deal. It passed the firing pin pencil test and I ran a mag full of dummies through and they all cycled fine. It shows some wear but everything seems in good order. Ambi de-cocker and no safety. Who needs a safety on a DA/SA anyway. Not me.

Reading the manual for the P90DC and see a nice feature. Unlike a 1911, you can load a single round direct in the chamber. I think the magazine is supposed to be out to do it, but just stick it in the chamber and drop the slide. The ejector has a ramp on the front that makes it engage the round without causing damage.

I just realized I now have 5 45s!

Bond Arms Rougneck in .45

Outside the revolver department, I only have two 9mms and two .32 ACPs. Definitely biased towards 45s!
