SHTF, what do you do?

Ok, let's say for the sake of argument that in 6 months you know for a fact that the SHTF will happen.

Say it will be a combination of a total market collaps combined with martial law/UN peace keeper troops patrolling the US to restore order in all major cities after multiple "terrorist" attacks. Arms confiscation, people being tagged and traced, total police state slave system with nearly all rights abolished. People being hurled to camps, total quarantines on cities, etc.

Ok, say you know that such an event is going to happen in exactly six months time, what would you do? How would you prepare yourself? What firearms would you bug out with, and where would you go? Would you bug out at all? Would you try to live outside of the prison system in the boonies oblivious to it, or would you try to join/start a revolt, or what?

What would you do with your assets and yourself during the prior six months? Relocate? Buy more arms/ammo? Move to Canada? Train survival living in the countryside?

What new firearms would you buy and why?

In short, what would you do and how would you live your life in those six months?

You can't predict what areas will be vulnerable to explotation six months in advance, or even six weeks. I have what I need, doesn't everyone? I'd simply head to a spot where no one would look, no I don't need any help or neighbors and see which way the wind blows when the time comes. Some stuff would be stored near here for possible future use, some taken with me. I'd put a couple dogs down and only take one or maybe two along. My first priority is to get the family out of harms way, no matter if it means living like gypsies. My 2nd is to try to remedy the situation, if it even has a remedy. Shoot the occupation may be the remedy to what we have been losing, you know at the end when it falls apart, at least you will be back at square one.

In my not so humble opinion, a majority of the folks walking this country's soil need a few years under the police state, to see if they still have that quality that has always made Americans special, the fire and smarts to overthrow an oppresor or at least give it hell. Course I figure most will simply knuckle under and make a go of it, nothing like being the best little prisoner in the lock-up, maybe they will let you have some ice cream for good behaviour.

Develop some ulcers, take a second job and say to hell with school for now (need time for other things).

Get an AR along with my Mauser (tomorrow, Jul 25 hopefully ), a cheap shotgun, start stockpilling ammo and MRE's. Convince my mom that this is a no-crap-I-am-very-serious situation, and convince her to max out a credit card with survival stuff and some weapons she can handle. Teach my sister to load various things and survial techniques.

Buy lots of stuff for a BOB and a SHTF trailer (old one bedroom we have on the land).

I too am quite interested in what you might know, because my "antenna" have been up and activated for a couple of days now. EERIE feeling.

If I knew it was going to hit the fan in 6 months, I would take my proof to the media and let the rest of us who believe in the constitution know about it.

Unless they sneak up on us they don't have a chance.

Hmmmm...interesting propsition. What would I do?

Nothing different. I'm a law abiding citizen. I have some stores of food left over from Y2k, for me and the cats. If the SHTF I trust my .gov to keep order and ensure that things run smoothly. So long as I have power and Inet access I'm happy.

Buy a beater, but innoucuos vehicle. What I have right now is too obvious: A Dodge Ram 4x4 and Pathfinder.

Then I would modify it for.... well, it would be modified, let's leave it at that.

Then I buy some hogs that needed feeding.

Um, oh yeah, buy some more food and ammo.

Umm, probably do what I've always done when a crisis hit. turn on the radio, call and check on mom. Hide in plain site and keep cool. I may turn on the TV to see the panic attack.

Well I would...

Move to Alaska and buy five acres of land with good water and semi-remote access. I'd stockpile food and ammo and get myself set up to be nearly self sufficient. I'd have all the tools I'd need, esp. ones that require no fuel. I'd make sure I had very tough firearms, esp. a nice .22 and a 12 gauge or two.

If I had 6 months, I'd sell the house in the city and move to the shore; easier to fish for food than hunt for it.
