I acquired a SIG P210-2 with serial number prefixed with ‘A’ and in range 180800.
This is an army issued firearm according to prefix and later on being privatized. Does anyone know approximate year of manufacture for this gun or where to dig for more info.

Thanks

This is all I've turned up so far. John

"The Swiss Army serial numbers range from 1949 at A100000 to A213110 in 1975, adding up to 113,110 pistols.

The 4th KTH order began with A109711 in 1952.

The range from A109711 through A120500 is transitional.

The range from A120501 through A213110 comprises the most common final Swiss military variation."

(the quoted numbers are from the "Military Issue" section about halfway down the page. The 8th paragraph after the gun sketch.)

Does it shoot the way that I've read in articles about it? Post a range report when you can.:)

I paid 2350 CAD. This is my second 210. First one is –1 deluxe version of public issue with golden plated trigger, slide stop, and hammer. Glass like finish and rose wood grips has factory safety extension built into and adjustable trigger stop. If you do your part it shoots like a laser. The second addition I haven’t had a chance to test yet since I got it last week.
I spent week degreasing it. Labor of love I guess. This one has lot more tooling marks inside and outside. Lock up slide barrel is perfect. I will post range report sometimes in August since I am going for vacation this weekend for duration of three weeks.

Thanks guys for the reply
