I picked up a SIG P210 standard today. I haven’t shot one before, but they seem to get good reviews and I was able to get it for $1000 which I thought was fair. I took it home and racked the slide... silky smooth. It just glided with no perceivable friction. The safety positively engages and disengages. The machining and fit/finish is exceptional. The trigger is amazingly clean, crisp, and light. I expected good, but I did not expect it to be anywhere near this good.

Hopefully, I’ll get to shoot some rounds next weekend and see how it actually shoots!

I'll bet you were going "Giggitygiggity" the whole way home! I would've been to.
That's the way my Q5 Match SF Pro made me feel when I brought it home.
Let us know how it shoots. Good for you!

I absolutely was! The gentleman selling it also threw in a DPM recoil reducing parts kit for the pistol. I’m not really familiar with the DPM thing so if anyone is, please let me know if it’s worthwhile.

A Sig P210 would definitely be a on my "A" List for must have 9mm.s! Congrats on getting one and at a decent price too!

Congrats on your acquisition and for the great price. A Sig P210 standard is on my short list. A friend bought a target model a few years ago and let me shoot it. Beautiful gun and a tack driver at the range. But the target model grips are a tad large for my hands so my preference is the standard version. It's at the top of my short list.

Same with me, the target grips are huge and didn't work for me. Mine was also the most unreliable pistol I ever bought, it did work after going back to the factory. Most really like theirs.

I’ve wanted one of those ever since SIG reintroduced them. One thing I’ve read about while researching them is the recoil spring assembly, it seems early ones had the rod break and replacement parts were unavailable. Might be something to keep an eye on, I haven’t looked into them for a while to see if the issue was ever resolved. Congrats on a fine pistol!

That is news to me. Thanks for the heads up. I've always be 'gun shy' (pun intended) buying any new model or version firearm within the first few years of introduction. The manufacturers seem to revise/correct/fix/update/recall so many models to address a multitude of issues. It generally take a few years to get them right.o_O

I have one and being used to mostly shooting milsurps I think the trigger is way too light, but hey, that's what practice is for, no?

I read that they are making all Target models now.
Local store has a lightly used Standard that I would be interested in if Bruce Gray gets out his mag well funnel and +2 magazine extension while it is still on the shelf.

I have a Switzer -6 mit adjustable sights and it is accurate and full of Old World Craftsmanship but the ergonomics are dreadful, and the magazine too short for ESP or L-10.
