SIG Sauer P6 for carry

I have a P6 dated 11/82 I have done absolutely NO modifications to and it is flawless. I have it in my carry rotation and have found no reason to exclude it. The only thing I feel is a short coming is the fact it is a single stack and limited to 8 rounds.

Nicer grip on the p6/225

PABLO,

I know that grips are an individual thing, but the SIG p6/225 pistols that I have shot have a smooth action and it can be improved. The real reason to buy one is that it has the nicest grip ergonomics which my S&W did not have. I used to own a S&W 439 and liked the grip ergonomics until I shot it side by side with the SIG. No contest for me.

Also, the SIG'S action was much better than the second generation S&W auto's that I have shot.

1. Installed 19 lb. main spring which improved the DA pull

I have a P225 which holds enough ammo and just feels GOOD in the hand, kind of like an enlarged Remington PA51 "like the handshake of a friend."

But it has the typical tough DA; not as heavy as the P6 cop gun but more than most other Sig Sauers.
I have read on the Sig board that you can go lighter on the mainspring - I forget just how light - as long as you replace it periodically. I am wondering how much I can reduce it and forget about it. Frex, I have no worries about shooting a 19 lb mainspring in a 1911 with GI at 23. Wolff says the stock P225 is 24 lbs. So how about a 20 or 21?

P.S. If your P6 does not feed hollowpoints reliably, it is not expensive to have the feed ramp cut to the shape of later P6 and commercial P225.
