Been a long time since I last checked out this site, but I need some help deciding on this handgun.

I bought my first 1911-style handgun about 5 months ago. A used Metro Arms American Classic II, relatively inexpensive and comes in as, what I believe from reviews and personal use, about the BEST 1911 clone you can get for under $500. It is my go-to for a truck-gun and my backup when I hunt feral hogs.

Today, I dropped into my usual pawn shop just to browse. The clerk (or whatever term you prefer, probably swindler or con-artist :p) said "Come back Tuesday". Why I ask. He went to the back and brought out one of the finest 1911s in my opinion I have ever seen, a Sig Sauer Platinum Carry. Used but still looks and feels pristine.

Stainless slide, black frame, aluminum grips. It felt amazing in my hands compared to my American Classic II. Comes with 2 8-round mags, a 11-round mag, and extra set of grips. In the original box no less!

I want this handgun, I know what they want for it. MSRP is $1275 per official Sig Sauer website. Is this a good 1911 and what would be a fair price in used but well kept with no visible wear condition?

That's a pretty Sig. :) SwampWolf's price is about what I would say too.

I have the the Target variant and it has been great!

I don't where you are - taxes / laws . I would start at about 600 out the door and maybe go to 850 out the door .
I would also check with cups on Serial number . Here [ california ] a pawn shop has to hold gun 30 days after telling cops the serial number .
