Sig Sauer ripoff

Mods, delete or move as you see fit. But people need to know this.

Just picked up my new Sig P-365 XL today. Advertised to come with two 12rd magazines. Mine came with crippled 10 rd mags.

Not as advertised, 10+ mags not banned from importation until July 01. What makes this even worse are the pressed in dimples on the sides to limit it to 10 rounds. The spring hangs up on the intruding dimple causing multiple misfeeds and jams. These mags will get you killed.

Looks like Sig has joined other organizations intent on screwing over gun owners.

If I violated any terms here, I apologize. I am so annoyed by this corporate ripoff.

:fire::barf::fire:

If you're looking for a 365 or 365 XL. I'm dumping everything Sig. And I won't rip you off. Check classifieds soon.

SIG isn't ripping anyone off. You ripped yourself off by not paying attention to what you were getting.

Gentlemen; Some of you posted good advice, thank you and I have, and will follow through with this. But at this point it does look to be a Sig issue.

Other Gentlemen, the direct ones. Yes, my fault for not double checking. Being an honest and fair man, I sometimes assume others are as well. But my inherent trust did not change what I ordered into something I didn't. That said, good advice to check before leaving.

Gentlemen that opted for personal attacks and insulting comments. I regret that my oafish behavior distressed you so greatly, I didn't join any anti gun groups over this, promise.

I've requested the mods lock/delete this thread. The personal attacks and mud slinging has started, making this thread useless.

Gentlemen, thank you, and good day.

I'm going to leave this open for a bit hoping that the OP will provide additional information of how he addressed the issue with the seller

Contacted both seller and Sig. Finger pointing ensued. Sigs response was equivalent to "your problem"

Sellers response, "I'm sorry this happened. We are going to look into this."

Traded me the correct magazines for the incorrect ones. One still had a spring coil trapped between the punched in dents. The follower couldn't push the 3 or 4 remaining rounds out. Follower was just hanging out 3/4" below feed lips.

I've done quite a bit of business with this seller. Never a problem other than one bad employee who isn't there anymore. I'm positive that they did not switch the mags. Box label clearly states 12rd mags.

The issue, on my end, is resolved.

The fault lies with Sig.

Furthermore, while my post was written in anger, that anger did not change the facts. In my OP, I made no personal attack against any member here, nor did I make any insulting comments to any member here.

I was suprised that there were so many insults and personal attacks directed my way.

I consider the matter closed and will not post on this topic again.

I'm not sure how you could come to that conclusion and truly know their intent...... There really was no need for Sig bashing.

Glad to read the "issue" was resolved within minutes of your previous post! I'm not sure how anyone could be positive that the mags were not changed out. After all, the box had to have been already opened. Believe what you want and enjoy your new purchase......

Didn’t see a ton of mud slinging and I’m glad it sounds resolved.

It is a good reminder to always check the contents of the box before signing the forms. I’ve caught a missing mag before, shop claimed they were baffled but I think they tried to pull a fast one.

Only way I can think of it being a Sig issue is if the SKU and box lists the 12 round mags and not the 10. I know on my 365xl it says on the box the sku and mag size.

Is that the the case OP, does the box list the 12 round mag? If so Sig should definitely have made good, either way it’s a shame of a reason to deny yourself an excellent carry gun.

Also, those mags sound bad. That does stink. I know Kimber has given me crap mags in the past and it’s annoying.

Here is an interesting and reasonable alternative. With the impending magazine capacity restrictions in the OP's location, I wouldn't be surprised if the shop decided to switch out all magazines to 10-round ones to avoid inadvertently selling a pistol with "illegal" magazines. Giving the shop the benefit of the doubt, if the pistol sold before the law change, they would have switched full capacity magazines back into the box. This leaves to possible scenarios :

1. They forgot to switch the correct magazines in when the sale was made before the law went into effect
2. They thought that the buyer might not notice until it was too late.

That the shop was able to produce "extra" magazines to swap for the OP's "incorrect" ones so easily (as soon as he brought it to their attention) would cause me to think either of the able were very likely

that was my first guess. But without seeing the sku number to match which mags go with it. Its hard to pin point.

Glad it worked out well.
The OP has a legitimate beef about the function of the 10 round mags if the followers don't move freely. Whether he ordered those or not, it's a problem that has to be addressed.
If somebody else has an issue with restricted SIG mags please start a new thread.
This one has run its course.
