I bought a new Sig SP2022 a few months back and it is having some trouble feeding the first round of a magazine. I can always get it to feed properly if I pull the slide back and lock it, then drop it using the slide stop. However, if I slingshot it or pull it back from it's starting position it always jams up a little before the round is fully chambered. I've seen a whole lot of brass on the feed ramp from the rounds getting stuck halfway up it.
I'm wondering if I need to get a stronger recoil spring to correct this or if it sounds like a problem with the magazine. I've noticed that after I chamber the first round if I pop the magazine out then the next round isn't flush with the back of the mag, it appears to be sitting forward about halfway. Has anyone seen this or heard about it? Should I get a new magazine, or recoil spring? Or is this even related to those two/correctable? I'd rather not send it into Sig, but if they'll take care of it for a reasonable price I'll do it.
Also if my descriptions aren't cutting the mustard I can post pictures. Just say the word if that will help.
