I have a Marlin 336 .30-.30 made back in 1976. Beautiful rifle; but am having a hard time getting it sighted in. It seems to be much harder to zero the iron sights on this rifle than on my Winchester 94. The model 94 easily shoots back dead on with no need for adjustment.
The Marlin 336 keeps shooting high. I was moving the moving the rear sight slide higher, because I thought that would make the gun shoot lower. Didn't seem to work. Which direction should I adjust the rear sight if the rifle is shooting high? Should I move the slide up on the rear sight or slide it lower? Guess I should've known this by now but I'm more used to adjusting scopes than just the basic iron sight adjustment.
