Went to the range today to sight in my ACOG compact TA50-4 3x on my 16" Noveske Recce. I sighted the rifle in at 50 yards with 55grn American Eagle FMJ as thats my stockpile load.

After the initial sight in I decided to have some fun at 200 yards with some good ammo. I had about half a box of Hornady Match 75grn HPBT.

It was about 95 degrees out and I had a good 10 mph+ wind from about the 8 oclock, with random gusts.

Definitely not the best bout of shooting Ive ever done but not to bad with a 3 power scope in the wind and blocks as a rest. With a higher power scope, less wind, a good shooter and a good bag, I wouldnt be surprised if this thing shot MOA.

Measured with my calibers puts the group right about 3.85 inches.

And the rifle.

Nope. I put the irons back on my issue Bushmaster. I like my ACOG a lot but anything under about 30 yards and I find it to be slow and a hinderance.

That is one nice looking rifle C-grunt! I hope someday to add a Noveske and a Bravo Company and an LMT to my battery of 556 rifles. That is a great price for a Noveske they are top quality and I see that same rifle for a lot more money on GunBroker. My next DI AR will probably be a White Oak upper with a Geissele trigger and a Bravo Company or RRA lower.

I have friends in Law Enforcement, one of them is about to retire. In talking to him about his career, he mentioned that he had at least a dozen incidents where he told them to drop the gun and they did and he arrested them. I told him he was one of the bravest men I had ever met. When he asked why I told him with my military and combat experience those dozen people would be dead, it took real courage to hold fire long enough to tell them to drop their weapon and for them to drop their weapon. Hopefully most of those dozen people after staring death in the face have changed their ways and become productive citizens. Sometimes I think Police work is just as dangerous or even more dangerous than Military work. We all might have enjoyable discussions about the quality of different weapon platforms, but no one would question the quality of our Men and Women using those weapons.

To all our Men and Women who have ever put on a uniform, whether Law Enforcement or the Military,,,,,Thank You!
