Sigs

to all,

count me IN.

in addition to having spent 39+ years "pinned to the badge", i'm a "P6-aholic" & frequently offer to adopt (at a fair price) ALL the P6 that current owners claim/gripe/moan/carp/whine/whimper that their pistol "won't reliably shoot hollowpoints".

i think i'll call it:
The San Antonio Home for UNwanted Sigs".
(CHUCKLE!)

yours, sw

I have two Sigs, a P228 and a P238. I sent the P228 to Bruce Gray not long after I got it, and it is now the silkiest and sweetest shooting DA/SA pistol I've ever used. Sigs are great.

My only sig i have right now is an P210-6. I used it for several years as a competition gun and i really loved it.

and don't ask me for the price or you will start to cry :p

what are you guys' opinions on the P250 and the SP2022?

I've heard the good but not too much of the bad about them - which apparently there are some bad ones out there.

I've been thinking on picking up an SP2022 or a compact or sub-compact P250 as a budget carry gun that is also smaller than my full-size line-up.

...

NIB P225 9mm w/3-dot Sig night sights and three 8+1 single stack mags

Pure German

And a few months back, added a NIB P228 9mm w/3-dot Sig night sights - Pure German

P229R CT 9mm & P228 9mm

Quite a difference, weight-wise, between the two, all in the slides

But I like them both.. lol,

All 3 have a special feel ~ Quality/Accuracy ~

I always wanted to get a sig but every time I see one at a gun show It never feels right in my hand. It seems like the grip is too cylindrical when compared to my 1911s. Also the slide seems to be the width of a small bus. Anyone else feel this way and over come it, only to purchase a Sig and love it?
Yes. But.........
I went to the gun store to buy a Sig 226 Blackwater. But when I held it, it was all wrong.
Too heavy, too front heavy, and the grip was huge, and so was the reach to the trigger.
(I ended up with a H&K P-30 instead)
I never lost the urge to get a Sig, though, and I started researching other models.
Nobody ever had one in the showcase to hold.
I finally made the leap and bought a new Sig 225 made in Germany.
(Sig doesn't show new ones on their web site, but Top Gun Supply has them.)
I got mine off Gunbroker at a fantastic price. (thanks, RoyalBeach.)
What a great feeling gun.
It's a single stack, 8 rounds, so it feels more like a 1911.
The D/A trigger is long and firm, but the S/A has a bit of takeup and then breaks like a 1911 (to me) The reach to the trigger is good, because the grip is narrower.
There are tons of used 225's out there, I'm kinda' fanatical about appearance, so I got new. I went for the Polizei, since it came with 3 magazines and the words "German Police Pistol" are really tiny on the slide. Otherwise, it's identical to the standard 225 with night sights.
I'm happy.

Count me on the Sig Club. I own four right now and want to add a P239 to the crew. I love my P229 in .40 but find it too large and heavy to daily carry in CCL. Currently, I have a Kahr PM40 for that duty, but I'd rather a DA/SA trigger, so the P239 seems like it would fill the bill. Still gathering the $$, but I'm looking.

Just a side question. I too tried to join the Sig Forum, but alas, I don't have an email address they will accept. Does anyone know the reason or reasons for not allowing web based email accounts? Just curious.

I did not know ther was a SIG Club.
I'm in,,, (please) Have four SIG's
P239 in 357SIG/.40S&W, P229 in 9mm w/.22lr slide, P226 in .40S&W/357SIG and my baby a P220EQ in .45ACP of course. I do hope to add a P232 in .380 sometime down the road.

Sig lover here with questions

I have several Sigs, and saw a P232, which I have always fancied, at my LGS. It is the one with the heel magazine release. Anyone have one? Opinions? Also, what about their 1911-style 45s?

Thanks

I had a P230 and liked it a lot. Good shooter, accurate and very well made. Felt great in the hand also. Mine was stainless and I still kick myself for selling it. The only thing about the model these days is that it's a little large by contemporary .380 standards. Other that that, if you like .380's, the P232 is an excellent choice.

Early GSRs were hand assembled from premium parts like caspian frames and storm lake barrels. The problem was Sig had no experience in putting together 1911s. This created a lot of fitting and teething issues. If you got a good one it was great. If not well..... I had a Gen 1 and except for the extractor pin walking out on me it was a great gun. Sold it to fund a TRS.

These days all parts are spec'd for Sig. They have streamlined production and the parts they use require a lot less hand fitting. They are production pistols which feature a external extractor which is ugly as sin but has been reliable.

If you like the look recent production seem to run well. They recently changed the profile of the slide to make them less Sig like and more like a traditional 1911. I am not a big fan of current Sigs but a lot of people like what they are offering.

Docnyt, I've sent my Sigs into the factory for this service in the past and I was happy with it even at the full price.

That's good to know. The SIGlites on my P220 are fading and I would like the SRT on it. My 226 Blackwater could use some thinning as I seem to hit off center due to effort to reach the trigger. I don't remember if it already has an SRT. I'll pull it out later to check.

Oh and back on topic. I had acquired a 220 Carry not too long ago and seem to favor it's big brother better. So let's see how many SIGs I have - P220 Equinox, P220 Carry, 226 Blackwater, 1911 Blackwater, Hammerli Trailside and 556 SWAT.

I let a 220 in 38 super (rare bird) slip by on another board. Won't happen again.
