Sigs

I have to agree with DeputyRet. I am also a retired LEO and carried a G-19 condition 3 (Chamber empty) for optimum safety, but there are times, such as a very close range armed robbery, where a condition 3 start could indeed be a problem. Because of that I switched back to a "J" frame S&W.

Recently had the occasion to dry fire a P220DAK. What an amazing DA trigger pull!! So, here I am reading a SIG thread thinking about carrying chamber loaded in a 220 or 226 DAK in lieu of the S&W 442. Just a thought - KW
I like my Sigs. One of hang ups about striker fired weapons (Glocks, XDs) is that there is no hammer to see. I feel a bit more relaxed when I can see my Sig has its hammer down on a loaded chamber. It shouldn't matter if the Glock or an XD has a loaded chamber but in my mind, it does. Doesn't mean I won't own an XD or Glock. It's just one more thing I like about a Sig. Just my thoughts.

Hey everyone, I just joined the forum, saw there was a Sig club and had to join. :)
I have a small collection, nothing outstanding.

W.G. P226 SA/DA 9mm
W.G. P220 SAO .45
(Pictures coming soon, new camera :)

I'm toying with the notion of buying a P228, but I already own a P226 and a USPc. I'm not sure if I should drop the extra $$$ for a gun that doesn't really fill a new niche.

I suppose I too am in this group I had not purchased or used a firearm in 30 years. I decided to get back into the game and bought a P239 in late January. Then bought a P238 and P250 in February. Last weekend (March 12) I bought a P290.

Total of 4 Sigs in less than 2 months.

Does the beaver tail on the elite model of 226/9 make a big difference? I like it a lot but have only shot the regular.

I like the idea of the beavertail for indexing the web of your hand in a rapid draw, but the one on Sigs are a little wide to be really comfortable and a bit deep to really get a high grip.

I went with a 226ST and a couple of 220STs instead of the Elite models and have no regrets

I've been here awhile and didn't even know there was a Sig club! I guess if membership is determined by ownership, I was a member, then not, now back...I currently have a P239 .40 w/Hogue Rubber grips and a P220 Carry DAK, which currently has slim grips on it, but tomorrow will get some Nill grips put on it. I love my DAK and plan to send the P239 in to have it converted to DAK...

GO SIG!!!!

More SIGs ...

I'll join. I have two P229s, both purchased new within the last 6 months. Unfortunately, one of them will have to take a trip back to SIG soon due to an unexpected internal digestive system problem that needs expert treatment. However, the other one has proven to be totally reliable and has become my main full size carry.

The 9 mm P229 is an excellent, proven sidearm, with absolutely zero performance issues. The 20 shot magazine makes it even more fun. Adding the Crimson Trace grip was a little pricey, but makes it almost perfect.

Purchased my first Sig (and first handgun!) last year (p232 two tone). Was actually eyeballing a Walther PPK and waiting for the salesman to come talk to me when someone sidled up to me and said, "If you like that gun you should check out the Sig Sauer P232." He pointed me to it and I went over there and fell in love.
I debated on it for 15 minutes (it was a little bit more than the Walther) until my husband shoved the money in my hands and said, "Just do it!"

I have never looked back. I just added a Hogue grip to see how that feels and haven't had time to take it to the range to test but I cannot wait.

Already eyeballing my next purchase and a Sig P229 is on that short list.

Do any fellow SIG nuts out there have a suggestion for a Holster that has a retention device somewhat like a Kydex or Fobus that will allow a quick draw and is somewhat inconspicuous in plain clothes. Have a 239 and the Desantis I bought is difficult to draw from. Looking for something in a molded composite. Any help would be great!!!

I bought a .22lr conversion for my P220 ST today. $279. Dealer said Sig has dropped it's prices on the conversions.
It shoots really well. A couple bobbles with standard velocity ammo. Mini Mag solids ran great. Great accuracy at 25 yards. I shoot it every bit as good as my Mark II, and that was just the first day. I'll give it a thorough cleaning and try again tomorrow with a wider variety of ammo.

anyone know if i can get a trigger job that is as light as a 1911 pull in the single action mode? that trigger pull is way too long for my tastes and effects my aim significantly.

would love to be able to just tap it instead of pulling the trigger back.

you can use the older style trigger with the SRT...I think 9mmepiphany was trying to point out that the SiG short trigger and the SRT are not mutually exclusive...SiG Sauer today does seem to equip all their SRTs with the short trigger now but you can still use the standard trigger...my favorite as well...

Love my p226. Took a defensive class on Saturday and put 400 rounds through it without an issue. I think my next will be a p220, although I shot an older 230 and it was a pretty sweet gun.

Congrats on taking a class and building confidence in your Sig. I've got a 226 in 9 mm that I've put 6,000 rounds through without a single problem. I've got a 220 in 45 that I've put 11,000 rounds through that had three failure to fires that I am fairly certain are due to not seating the magazine properly and were fixed by the tap rack n tilt. I'm sure other pistols can do just as well. I just haven't shot them as extensively as I really like the way Sigs feel in my hands.
