Silly guns

It was obviously a build for a child, so what the heck. As long as the parent is there to supervise the shooter, if it brings another person into our ranks, good for them.

See, not all AR's have to be evil and black. Personally, not sure if I'm man enough to bring that to a range by myself and claim ownership. lol
Sure you would if you told everyone it was a present for your 6 year old granddaughter....I know I would......

I was going to build my oldest daughter (13) an AR for Christmas, and I asked her what kind of grip she wanted. Showed her all the magpul stuff, dye jobs, ceracoat custom options, etc. I was prepared for a hello kitty or a pink camo build. She comes back with wanting a 12" black slim keymod free float and a 16" ss barrel just like my lightweight build but a little heavier. And a red dot. She knew what she wanted and it looks good! My 4 yr old though, she says she wants a pink one with a blue flower on it.

Guns are not toys . Wouldn't treat them as such. It's ugly anyway. IMO. I don't have children so maybe I don't get it.

After too many years of explaining that guns are not toys, I am not a fan of these builds. Don't have to please me, however, so builder is welcome to gussie it up any way he/she pleases.

You're right, you don't get it. As I said above, a LOT of small CCW guns are coming in colors and that appeals to females mostly and has led to increased sales and more women getting a gun for CCW. I think it great. This isn't a model T where , as Ford said, you can have it in any color you want, as long as it is black.

One benefit of a brightly-colored gun is, it makes it easier to find in a dark room.

Nobody's mentioned the Kalashnikitty yet...

For that matter, someone was trying to sell a set of four "ninja turtle" Glocks on Gunbroker a few years ago...

I look at it this way. It's your money you are spending, not mine, so spend it like you wish. If you want to build something like shown in the OP, have at it. I build things like I want them built and don't care about anyone else's opinion. Why should anyone care about mine?

Now then, all married men know I'm lying a little about not caring about anyone else's opinion but she's the only one that I pay attention to..

I just Googled “Hello Kitty guns”. Dear god. There’s dozens of pictures.

I guess I just didn’t realize how many people are doing this kind of thing.
