Did a little searching and while finding a good many post on Simply Rugged (most being very positive) I didn't find a lot on the specific IWB carry with the straps. Seems most carry them OWB

I am looking for a IWB and OWB holster for my Kimber Solo. I would probably carry it IWB a little more often, but I figure as small as the Kimber is OWB would be feasible a pretty good amount of time also.

This holster would be great since it accomplishes both. My question is how satisfied are owners when switching to IWB? It seems the design is a OWB design and I wonder how the comfort, retention, and conceal-ability is when adding the straps and converting to IWB.

I understand some may want to point me to their favorite IWB only holster, but please keep this to users opinions on the Simply Rugged or another brand of OWB/IWB convertible holsters

I have a simply rugged OWB holster for my SP101. I usually carry IWB with it using the supplied straps. Works great, comfortable, and conceals well. I only wish it was tuckable, but you can't have it all.

So how high does it ride while IWB?

pretty high, about 1/2" of the holster above the belt line, it doesn't drop down into the pants like a true IWB dedicated setup, but I prefer it to ride high because I find it more comfortable to drive with it riding higher, so I don't have to keep shifting it around as I enter and exit vehicles. It puts the butt of the SP101 a few inches under my shoulder blade when I carry at the four o clock position IWB

I have two S.R. holsters. Mine are no frills versions...no fish scale imprints or fancy leather. Specifically, I have a Cuda for full size glocks (17, 22, etc) and a Sourdough for a Ruger Alaskan. Obviously those are fairly big guns.

The SRs work better IWB than the standard single-clip IWB holsters. They are not (IMO) as good overall as the hybrid IWB holsters you see nowadays, but are at least the equal of the double-loop IWB holsters I have tried. They don't allow shirt tucking though I guess they have a version that does if that's your thing. I can and have walked around with a G22 IWB and it made that as much of a non-issue as any holster could.

I intend to buy another if that's worth anything.

I've got a silver dollar pancake and I've been very pleased with it OWB. It can sit right at 4:00 and is smooth enough to not catch on your clothes. It has good retention without any sort of straps. However, what it does not do well is hold its' shape while empty IWB. Practice is important and I like the ability to re-holster one-handed. Kydex holds its' shape empty IWB.

I carry a Smith 60 IWB in a SR Silver Dollar 90% of the time; I rarely use it OWB. The only negative comment I can make is that it's difficult to reholster one-handed.

Here is mine. I have the straps and holes put in it for IWB carry. I have only used it IWB once. As OWB it holds the pistol very close and very concealable. Plus its too pretty for IWB. The switch is easy. Just need 2 screw drivers then screw it in.

I have the silver dollar pancake for a sp101 with a 3 inch barrel. I have only used it IWB. Very comfortable for me (short and overweight). Also I had it in less than two weeks for the time I ordered. Works good for me.

You may want to check with forum member savit260. I believe he has a couple of Simply Rugged holsters with the Inside Out straps that he wears IWB. I think he spends most of his time on the Revolver sub-forum though, so if he doesn't find this thread you may want to send him a PM.
