Simulator Training

Looks like it's training you to stand in the open so you can get shot.

Are there any props for concealment and cover or do students just stand in front of a screen?

I have used a form of that type of simulator training. I think it’s very helpful and gets your mind in the game. Also makes you use your voice to shout things like “GET BACK OR I WILL SHOOT”. Or whatever the situation dictates. Also will train you to not to shoot.

Patterned after the LE F.A.T.S system. Some really good training but pricey I would imagine for an individual. Used to cost us over a grand a day for usage. Ran some of the Judges and Defense Attorneys through as a courtesy. Amazing how many times they died or shot good guys. Changed some attitudes.

Does the simulator cover 270 degrees?
The one I did was just a flat screen. Still very realistic. It is really important to have a instructor running the show and critiquing. Another thing which should go without saying, There should be NO REAL GUNS OR AMMO in the same room. The training guns are identical and no one needs more ventilation in the walls.

I've used simulators before and they're excellent training tools. They help a great deal with quick decision making.

They aren't the ultimate training tool like properly conducted force on force training with Simmunitions is, but they are valuable nonetheless. I expect that they will be too expensive for the average person though.
