Fired my first shots in a new to me Colt clone in 45 Colt. The target shows a snake shot pattern at three yards and a 10 yard group of Hornady 185JHP Critical Defense. I am very happy with it. Bore and chambers look excellent, locks up tight and the trigger is smooth and crisp. I am extra happy because it also grouped well with some 155 grain wadcutters that I bought by mistake. I like it so well I want to buy a 45acp cylinder for it; but, I don’t know the manufacturer. It says Cimarron on the barrel, but it is one of their first imports and they don’t have a record of the serial number. They think it is a Uberti, I am hoping some of you might know by looking at the hammer. The hammer also has a screw going into the middle of the saddle. The reason I care is I want to order a 45acp cylinder. 7CFC7781-08B7-415A-9233-190781E1065C.jpeg B1CC4AF0-5E8A-4121-8611-6D177C81BA2E.jpeg cylinder that fits. The hammer may tell someone who made it.

Remove the cylinder and look next to the base pin hole at the front of the frame.
You should see a very small stamping showing a octagon barrel and sight the muzzle end.
The stamping also shows the rifling with the bore, in the center is a "U".
This stamp is the Uberti trademark or makers mark.
VTI has replacement cylinders for the Ubertie's.

I had one of the Uberti SAA clones, it was a great looking and very fun to shoot. It now resides up in Idaho riding on the hip of a good friend who retired up there. :)

Hopefully you’ll find that .45 ACP cylinder you’re looking for, that’ll give you a lower cost and much more varied option of loads to shoot if you don’t plan on reloading.

Stay safe.

Fine looking Uberti you've got there! I have a Beretta Stampede (also made by Uberti), and have found it to be a very well made single action revolver. Let us know how things go with getting a .45 ACP cylinder and having it fitted to your gun.

Rio, Reloading 45 ACP is one of the reasons I wanted this gun. With the new cylinder I ordered last night I will be reloading for four guns at once: Colt 1991, Glock 30SF, SW 625 Model 1989 and the new Uberti ( the date code is 1990, a good match to my Colt and SW).
Kevin, nice looking gun, the front sight is a special touch.
Burn, good looking gun. VTI had a wire hand spring labeled Beretta that I also ordered as a spare. I will post on my 45acp cylinder when I get it working. I hope it isn’t going to be a problem.

I had a two-cylinder Uberti from Mitchell. You see the ads for the importers who say they get guns with special attention? OK, this was one of the others. When I got ready to trade it off, I sold the ACP cylinder to a friend. It fit his Uberti as is.

the front sight is a special touch

Coins make good sight blades. An Indian Head penny is popular with the Sharps shooters for a hunting sight.
I have heard of using a penny or dime turned to show the year... of the owner's birth.

Thanks Jim, that is good news about the cylinder interchange.

The cylinder on mine required a bit of fine tuning for it to interchange with the long Colt cylinder. And since I don’t use the long Colt cylinder, I guess it wasn’t needed!

The IH penny was a gift from my brother, specifically for this revolver.
