i have a Savage axis 223 and am considering some longer bullets for it that will have to be loaded individually. I know there is some kind of device to aid in that, but that’s all I know about it. So what is it called, and are they rifle spec, caliber specific, or universal?

I’m just wanting to try some heavier bullets and see how they do. I’ll probably pick up another 223 rifle with something other than a 1/9 twist if I can secure access to a friends property with 500+ yards to play in. The next rifle will be one that takes AR mags and be a good use for the 10 & 20 rounders I have.

I use a SLED in an AR-15 magazine for single loading and it works great. This would be really nice to use in a Savage. The chamber is so far in front of the magazine that it is hard to start the bullet in the chamber for a single round.

In the modern era, 3D printing has made it FAR TOO EASY to have replacement magazines printed which emulate a single feed bobsled. Assuredly, someone out in the internet has already printed either a single feed bobsled or at least a mag-block (safety device) which could be easily modified to become a bobsled - and if they haven’t, they can tomorrow.
