It's an old model in about 95% condition, so I don't want to do anything to it that will cause me grief.

The blasted thing keeps coming loose. Every 50 rounds or so, out with the screwdriver. I was thinking just a small drop of blue loctite.

Just makes me nuts. My 357 41 and 44 blackhawks don't do this, even with barnburner loads, but the mighty 22 single six does it every time.:scrutiny:

If you don't want to put loctite on the screw, try a little dab of clear nail polish. It'll do the same job, yet the screw will come loose easily when you want it to.

It will come loose easily when you want it too with Blue Loc-Tite too.

Use Blue Loc-Tite!

(Degrease the hole & screw with rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid first)

I'm familiar withe the blue stuff from several years as a wrench bender. I was just worried that should I ever need to remove it for some reason, given the small size of the screw it'd end badly.

I'll use break clean on a q-tip for degreasing, I know a lot of folks that use rubbing alcohol as a degreaser on small gun parts. I don't. That 30% water thing makes me nervous.

Blue is designed for small fasteners that have to be occasionally removed using common tools.
That includes screwdrivers.

If a nudge is needed, stick a soldering gun on the screw head and the heat will smoke the loctite.

But regardless of that, I can think of no reason you would ever want to take the ejecter rod housing off again anyway.

Far better you use the Loctite then have it fall off in the weeds and get lost!
