Single stack DA compacts w/ hammers: what’s left?

Just thought of another, don’t think it has been mentioned yet, the S&W 39, well deserved reputation as well.

Love my 39-2. And its super accurate. It shoots like a S&W model 52 target gun. Its a little big for a pocket gun even though I read and article many years ago by Col. Charles Askins who called it a large pocket gun. He must buy his pants at Duluth Trading Company for it to be a pocket gun. I have a Walther PP in 32acp that is a DA/SA pocket gun. Not that I would rely on a 32acp unless it was all I had.

I always liked the DA/SA set up myself. A safe way to carry a loaded gun and after the first shot very quick follow up shots. One Ayoob article stated that was why the FBI choose that system for so long. The first shot would not be fired by accident and then the rest of the shots were being fired by an agent in a fight for his life with a light SA trigger pull. Made sense to me.

I'll mention the 290RS again. Yes, it's discontinued but still can be found. It's very small but slightly heavy for what it is however the weight helps it be a soft shooter.

Another discontinued Sig DAO I'll mention is the P250SC. It is a double stack but the medium and small grip modules are small for a double stack, easy to handle, and conceal.

ThomasT and BreechFace mention the Smith 39-2. This could also include 439's also but both are DA/SA pistols and the mags are almost non-existent. If I understand correctly the DA/SA could possibly be converted to DAO only. Once in a conversation with Tommy Campbell he told me his recommendation to Smith was to make the 3953 type Smiths simply by leaving out the disconnector instead of using the half cock mechanism.
