What other single stack 9mm options are there that don't have an external safety? So far I've only been able to come up with Kahr CW/P series and the Walther PPS. I'm sure there are other options, I just don't know how to find them. Any help is appreciated.

Although not currently produced, the SIG-Sauer P225 is a "slimnine" without an external safety (it uses a frame mounted decocker instead). There are a lot of German police surplus P6s (essentially the same gun) coming in these days.

Oooo ooo Sig P6

My vote is for the Sig P6 (P225)
Its like an officers model of a Sig P220, everything the same but scaled down to 9mm.
Single stack 9mm, 8 rounds
Used 259.95 at AIM
I got one when they were $264, Has holster wear, mechanically in excellent shape. I picked one up to have a 9mm, it became my favorite handgun.

Springfield EMP

Sig P239

Sig P232

Bottom two are great guns. Haven't handled the EMP as of yet, but I hear good things -- and I should for what it is selling for.

No Safety At All

If you are looking at a pistol, do you mean it does not have a manuel safety or a SLICKSLIDE model without any switches, levers or gadgets.

The I&NS used to require that private purchase pistols not have any slide mounted safety.

I have used the BERETTA 92D Centurion which has a shorter barrel and slide than the standard size 92 model and the 92DCM which is the the same short barrel and slide combined with a shortened grip and single collumn magazine. They both shoot very well for me, but are not as small as the guns you mentioned.

I like the DOUBLE ACTION ONLY pistols without any safety lever. The BERETTA pistols have a very smooth action. Some are even better than a SMITH & WESSON with a street (smoothed, but not lightened) trigger job.

The other option would be a SAFE ACTION pistol like the GLOCK which does not have any safety lever either.

By external safety, I mean something like a 1911 or HK USP has (where you have to slide a lever up in order to fire the weapon). Other 'external' safeties (such as the lever on the triggger of a Glock is OK). I'm looking at something for carry and I don't like having to worry about flipping a lever before I can shoot. Thanks for the responses everyone.

Almost all the pistols I own have decockers vice the manual safety. I'll vote for the Sig 225 or the P6 variant as I really like mine. Have a Kahr as well and they're also nice...

A Makarov does have a safety but, even with the safety flipped to the fire position, the gun still can't fire from a hit on the hammer. You could leave the safety off all the time. It's a kinda neat feature. I was impressed when I first noticed that. Leave a round in the chamber and just pull the trigger when necessary; it's DA. The succeeding trigger pulls are SA.
