I have often suggested using small blunt objects like flashlights as defensive tools. Recently I received a request for additional information, and while thinking about it, I decided to just go ahead and write an article about it. The requester suggested I include some video.
I have so far resisted using video in my articles, but it is true that it's easier to quickly pass on a lot of information through video.
A lot of us here are guilty of focusing too strongly on hardware instead of software. It's just usually more fun to talk about a new knife or gun than training. I tried to keep this simple, because simple works.
Ideas:
>Be Aware
>Be Ready
>Stop the threat as far from you as possible
4 strikes:
>Punch
>Hammer
>Rake
>Reverse Hammer.
The article is Here. Let me know what you think. If enough folks find it useful, I'll do at least one follow-up.
