I had no idea S&W was still making the no-lock 351C, .22 WMR 7-shot revolvers any longer. Well, I found one at a LGS and, recalling I had a nice combat grip sitting in a drawer, I figured to myself "is there any better reason to buy a gun than having an unused grip for it at home?". The answer I came up with is "of course not", so I bought the darn thing :)

Figured I'd share a couple pictures with the good folks at THR. Here she is wearing the crockback combat grip.

Man oh man that is just about perfect and tastes run in the same direction. I looked for a reasonable 651 many years and never found one, that new 351c you got there looks tempting ......

I've hit this thread three times in three days and gotta say those crock grips really make the toy.
I'm gonna go show this picture to my wife.
Wink-wink, nudge-nudge...

A couple of years ago, S&W had a few bad ejector stars - they'd not extract one or more empties. A trip home - a new star fitted - and I was shooting it again before it's one month anniversary. Mine was bought just in time - I tore my right rotator - and for over a year, it was the only gun I could raise high enough to aim. I am better now... but I still carry mine a lot more than my 642. Mine is the hammered version - 351PD - it was the same price as the 351C - $630 locally - from the only store that had either!

Mine loves CCI MaxiMags 40gr TMJ or pHP and Hornady 45gr FTX Critical Defense, which is what I carry in it and keep in my one speedloader. It seems to hit coincident POA/POI from 3-7yd when shooting DA. I tried improving it's DA pull with a Wolff lighter hammer coil spring, but I had a few ftf's with the CCI's. DA didn't improve much with break-in... it's still stout (Mine can shoot SA - which is good.). Those Hornady FTX's do a number on a 2L pop bottle full of water! Oh, yeah, they are loud - and flashy! If there is a recoil, it's absorbed while you are gripping the gun tight enough to pull that DA trigger! I've had mine for over two years now - it's a keeper! I hope you enjoy your 351C as much as I enjoy my 351PD!
