Snappy .380 pistols

Are you running 9mm mags in your .380? To the best of my knowledge there are no X-length .380 mags for the P365. If there are, that's good news to me.
They're .380 mags. They come with 2 different floorplates to accommodate either the standard or X-length grip module. Here's a 10 and a 12.

Thanks. So ... I live in a state with a 10-round-limit. Pardon me if I'm a little slow tonight, but is there a floorplate to convert a 10-round .380 mag to X-length without adding any capacity?

Tactical Development makes one. If you look at the picture I posted of the two pistols, the mag in the lower right is a 10-rounder with the Tactical Development floorplate. Unfortunately, they're out of stock at the moment. I signed up to be notified when they're back in stock, but who knows when that will be.

When the RM380 were on clearance for $99.00 after rebate, I got a second one.

I never had a problem with the unlock pin coming out. Remington calls it the "Unlock Pin." Rohrbaugh alternatively calls it the "Takedown Pin" and "Locking Pin."

MRC from the Rohrbaugh Forum tracked down these specs:

Rohrbaugh R9 takedown pin - diameter - .154", length - .617"

Remington RM380 unlock pin - diameter - .1525 , length - .620

Either pin costs about $6.00
Do you happen to have a source for these Rohrbaugh R9 takedown pins?

Got it -- thanks!

I'd check on the forum. Eric Rohrbaugh checks in on the forum every once in a while and he knows who has spare parts:

I haven't been able to get access to the forum. I registered, and then found that they request me to send an email to the admin, but the admin email gets returned. I searched and found a different email for Duane, but have not heard any response from my request.

I had one, two actually. Just not fun at all to shoot in my opinion.
I think he was talking about the +p ammunition. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as +p 380. There are no standard specifications for it, it is just overloaded 380. I would not recommend shooting it out of a blowback pistol, like the SIG pictured. Out of a modern pistol with a locking breech, I expect it would work fine.

Talk about being "Snappy", try these in your 0.380.

Had one of these some years ago; a little more mass to the slide and the gun, less unpleasant than its Walther equivalent.
I'd be hesitant to shoot +P in one; not only is it hard on the gun (and shooter), it could speed up the slide, making it harder for the cartridge stack to rise.
I'm leery of +P .380, as it doesn't have a definite spec.

The Sig P232 is my EDC, 90% of the time. I shot one box (20 rds} through to re-zero the laser grips. Stout recoil, but everything worked as it should. As stated, it's EDC, hopefully I never have to use it in a real situation.

Got it -- thanks!
FYI, I came across these tonight. I've never purchased anything from Shapeways before, but last year when I called SIG asking if I could get pinky extension floorplates for my flat base P365 mags, they recommended these guys. I just bought a pair of these:

OK, I just had a "Duh!" moment. I realized that I had some of those Tac Dev bases on my 9mm P365 from when I changed it to an X-frame and had some leftover short mags. I also had an extra SIG X-frame from when I switched my 9mm P365X to a Wilson Combat frame. So I stuck my P365 .380 into that SIG X-frame, swapped a couple of the Tac Dev bases onto the .380 mags, and voila, I'm in business with a .380 P365X.

Thanks for the tips!

I have no problems with recoil from my Gen 1 LCP since I added a Hogue sleeve, it adds about 1/4” to width but offers a secure comfortable grip even with hot loads.

Whenever I've shot this Beretta Cheetah 85 FS at the range it was accurate, reliable and I found the recoil comfortable. My issue with its operation is that the slide is tough to retract by my aged hands. View attachment 1187355
Here's your answer -- too bad it's discontinued.

I know. But that ship sailed a long time ago. In the 80s I had both an 84 F and later a BDA and had no problems retracting the slides back then. Either I became too old for that function in those models or the satin nickel finish in my 85 FS just tends to seize up the rails.

Update note: Oops, I meant an 84F, not FS which came later.

Here's your answer, as someone else stated. I'm merely providing the link.

I've shot a PPK and a Beretta 84, which are on the large and more shootable side for 380s, and they still snapped like heck. I'm in no hurry to shoot the LCP type micro 380s.
