So, what did you buy yourself for Christmas?

Because of the ammo shortage, business closures and a few other reasons, I turned my attention towards air guns.

Never was allowed to have a bb gun as a kid. Lived in N.J. in the 50's and the commie town ordinance killed it.

Similar to me. I never owned a BB gun, and went straight into firearms when I got older. I guess I'm making up for lost time. I ordered myself a Beeman R7 to start with. Depending on how much fun that is, the SIG ASP20 is looking really nice too.

Not unlike guys returning to .22 - or visiting .22 for the first time - after a life of diving into the deep end of shooting.

I found ridiculously unexpected shooting pleasure in a couple of highly accurate airsoft rifles my self as well as renewed joy in shooting my restored Benjamin Blue Streaks.

Todd.

Welcome to the deep end! I am glad you started with a good a better air rifle... many are turned off by starting with the cheap end of things and not getting a good experience! That gun willlast a lifetime....I started with its brother an old school hw 50m 44or so years ago... still have n shoot it :)

I'm going to do my best to not go off the deep end! I have enough hobbies and really didn't need another, but the idea of shooting that little R7/HW30S in a basement range excites me. When the weather clears up, I might pick up just one more airgun. Something a little more powerful. The Beeman R9/HW95S and SIG ASP20 are at the top of my research list. I have no interest in PCP because that truly would be going down a rabbit hole!

That's what I decided to do a couple of years back. Set up a mini shooting range in my basement (about 60' from wall to wall), and asked my Secret Santa for a Remington 1911RAC, a carton of BBs, and some extra CO2 cartridges. It was so much fun that the next year I received a SIG M17 pellet pistol for Christmas and then the following year a Benjamin Regal II air rifle. Some day I plan to get a full auto BB gun to add to the indoor shooting pleasure!

Not necessarily “for christmas” but in the last couple weeks I have bought a few items that are shooting related.

Let’s start off with my birthmas gift from the kids, the Chipmunk 22 pistol. Got it in the late fall/early winter for about $40 less than I normally see them.

Recently, I have bought a few items building up to start bullet casting. Still a few items yet to buy, most notably lead and molds. I had to push Christmas with extended family out a week due to sicknesses so I will spend some money I’m expecting to get on those items. Speaking of extended family Christmas, I know I’m getting some new, primed 16ga hulls, parts to a couple guns, and some tools.

Last but not least I bought a stabilizer brace on Christmas morning. It should be here tomorrow.

1,000 direct from Starline .45 Colt brass and two of those Boker Mini Strike knives from Blade HHQ that member HSO the Enabler (as I call him now) was showing off in another thread that I made the mistake of opening and reading.

Kept it pretty low key this year.

A left hand Savage 220 bolt slug gun, if I can ever find one.

Great gun!

I've never seen a left-handed one. I just checked Sportsmans Guide and Bud's for you but it's out of stock there too.

I see that there is a new updated version.....I wonder if because of this it will be a little while before they roll them out.

Fall I get fat and lazy. Hard to enjoy snow and freezing weather anymore. Younger days I would be out every day around Xmas. Got numerous guns as a child. 10/22's to a Jennings j22 that I ran a trapline with.

The update came last year, and the updated one has been on the market for some time, they, like everything else, is just unobtainum right now, although I am "on the list" with about 8 online retailers and have 3 LGS on the lookout as well.....it'll happen, put probably not immediately.

The lefties are around but uncommon. I saw one on GB a few years ago that sold for a good price at the time of $325. Haven’t seen one since and I make pretty regular searches for slug shooting shotguns.

I am unaware of the updated version as I don’t generally keep up to date on the newer items.

The R7 is an awesome airgun. I have

Great choice. I have the HW30 in .177 and the HW95 in .22. 30 is more fun to shoot for everyone. Light, easy cocking and quiet. Very accurate. Not hold sensative.

An Ontario RAT1 folding knife, Knives of Alaska Bush Camp/Caping knife set in D2 steel. Lastly a CZ457 American in 22lr. Heck of a nice squirrel gun. Set it up with Warn rings and a Bushnell Prime series 3.5-10x36 AO scope. Can't wait to shoot it.

those rat folders are nice... found about ten of em onclearence for 7-13.00 a year or so back and grabbed them... being a knife snob I have been surprised how decent they are although they do get good reviews to begin with and the CZ Americans are great lil rifles!

Man you were fortunate to buy those for almost nothing. I normally carry a Benchmade mini griptillian, mini barage and my latest favorite the Bugout. But the RAT 1 is grat for the money and I'm rough on EDC's on the farm. Hope the CZ performs well.
