Either way, immigrant applicant or citizen convicted abroad, justice will not be served unless the nature of the crime and the validity of the conviction under US standards is considered. Rather than use this guy as a champion of gun rights; hey, did someone say gun?...we won another one, yippee; concede that he should still be convicted in the US of smuggling and ultimately lose his gun rights in any case. Since he didn't injure or threaten anyone with a gun, I don't think his gun rights should be involved, but that is not the law.
Anyway, it will be interesting to study the opinion document closely, especially the dissents.
