I've had a heavy barreled .260 Remington built on a Remington 700 action by Defensive Edge for a few years. It had approximately 500 rounds on it when I bought it second hand and I've put twice that through it since. I took it to Tumbleweeds today to price out a rebarrel in .260 AI. After giving it a thorough examination, they told me the barrel looks good; they said just set it back and recut the chamber. Even with retiming the fluted barrel and muzzle brake, it's going to cost a fraction of what a new barrel and installation would run. With the holidays upon us it will be well into first quarter before I can pick it up, but something to look forward to!
