Why, yes, I am partial to the look of a stainless steel double-action revolver with a four-inch barrel...

(Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum, Ruger SP101 .22LR, Smith & Wesson Model 64-5 .38 Special)

Nice collection. I will have a GP100 one of these days. I currently have a S&W 617 4" and a S&W 66-1 4" in my stainless collection. Both are great guns!

here's a couple. 3.75" .44mag, and 5.5" .45 convertible. these are hopefully soon to have custom stocks. i'll have to take a nice pic of my gp100 as well.

I'm quite fond of my Model 60-15. A "J-Magnum frame" chambered for .357, it shines with .38+P. This one's a 3-incher. The Model 60, in the words of Wikipedia, "...holds the distinction of being the first regular production all stainless steel revolver ever made."

Forget the real harem girls; I would take your bevy of S&W beauties any time!

oops...missed the 'double action' part the first time around. here's my gp100 with both compact and full size grips, both with macassar ebony inserts, one satin and one gloss.

Some of these guns I've seen before, some I haven't, but they're all beauties. Keep 'em coming!

Deaf, you like the stubbies, do you?

Here are my stainless revolvers. Sorry about the soft focus - gotta polish up my cell phone in the camera area.

Well gang, the longest barrel revolver I have is 5 inches and that's a RAAF .38 from WW2.

Yep, I do like 'em short. 4 inches is tops, but 3 and 2 1/2 inchers are my favorites.

There's just something about stainless revolvers with wood grips.

Just ignore some of those beautiful blued models..... ;-)

First production stainless Steel revolver was the S&W model 60

My Model 60-15 .357 Mag. 3" bbl. Ramp front sight, W&E adj. rear

My other SS revolver, S&W 625-8 5" Bbl .45 ACP & .45 AR
the finish is 'matte'

Is it my imagination or did S&W stamp that sideplate off center? And of the two guns, do you find any one more accurate than the other? (I took my Ruger 2.75-inch out to an outdoor range and was shooting at orange clay pigeons at 100 yards. It was amazing how many I hit (and if I didn't hit them I was hitting damn close), and yet the National Coalition to Ban Handguns and other groups years ago were telling people that short barrels on handguns were only good at "table top" distances.

You ever had a chance to shoot your guns at extended ranges?

Yes, but the original model 60 was just a regular .38Spl. 2" J-frame, basically a model 36 Chief Special in stainless. No target sights, no enclosed ejector rod. Pretty much a different gun.

No clue as to why they still would call the current model a 60.
