in this months guns and ammo, I think I saw 8mm made the "death list" article in terms of cartridges soon to be 100% gone.

Very scarce.

8mm mauser is in serious short supply, no doubt in large part to 1919, MG34/42 owners buying tractor trailer loads of it at a time to use at machine gun shoots. The stuff costs 4 times what it did last September if you can find surplus. Shows are probably about the last refuge. I cleaned out the Chantilly, VA show by 10:00 AM Saturday the last time through of 8mm Mauser surplus. Every vendor. It took longer to load my truck than to find and buy all of it and I was happy to have it. And no offense meant, but if I found any, I would damn well keep it secret.

About the next best bet for the MG crowd is 7.62 x 54, 7x62 x 39, & 30 06 in that order for 1919 / 1917 guys.

If you've got a Mauser to feed, Natchez has some and Wolf makes it in their Gold line but it's expensive. I feel for you, trust me... Let's keep our fingers crossed a cheap source becomes available soon...
