Spike’s New .416 Spike – a .308 version of .300blk

Wow... I drew this up less than a month ago haha. This is my version of a 300 blackout scaled up to .416 using a .300 ultra mag as a parent case.

Too bad this is not a “new” cartridge. I quoted it because exact dimensions of either are not known by me. But, J.D. Jones has had the .416 Whisper for quite a while. Technically his was built off the 7mm BR. But all that is is a cut down and necked down .308.

Oh, and when Accuracy International “invents” the .510 Lapua (or some other name), yes JDJ already invented that also. Along with quite a few others, in every common bullet caliber down to 6mm.

JDJ is akin to PO Ackley. Just from 2 different generations. And one hot rodded cartridges, while the other puts heavy, large caliber, high BC bullets, into little bitty cartridges.
