I really like my bass pro Pursuit spotting scope, about $150 to $175.
Is there anybody with a spotting scope that shoots at a white paper target at 200 yards and see's there hits using 223 caliper cartridge?
Problem is, the bullseye is black and picking bullet holes out of the black is a lot harder.
If you want to see .22 holes at 100 yards you will be spending over $500. Kowa is a brand you'll see at high power matches. They are well worth the money.
Something to look into, and I am in no way familiar with, would be a long range remote camera set-up. Caldwell offers one such camera for $350 (street price) that can be connected to your smartphone.
Having gone the cheap spotter route several times myself, there’s not a one I would recommend under the $350 threshold before adding another $100+ for a tripod. Something to kick around.

Here is a link to an article that you should read, It is an old article and some of the spotting scopes may not be available but this still applies to the newer spotting scopes. Just a couple of pages to read with some excellent information that at the very least will allow you to make an informed decision regardless if it is smart or not.
