Anybody here own or have first hand information on this firearm? I have read rave reviews about it but am hesitant to spend money on it. Even Hickock45 likes it.
I handled and fired the EMP4, but decided it was no improvement (for my purposes) over my original EMP. So I bought several EMP4 mags to use in my EMP for increased mag capacity.
I've had a 9mm EMP4 for a couple of years, my son shoots action pistol with it. We've had no troubles or failures, it's accurate and reliable and well appointed for the price. Plus, it fits his hand perfectly. It's been money well spent as far as I'm concerned and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if I was in the market.
No experience with the EMP4, but I had a standard EMP that was fantastic. Frankly, part of me regrets parting company with it when seeking out greener pastures in the .45 ACP flavor.
I also just have the regular EMP9 (and used to own an EMP40) but I have to agree you aren't likely to run into any problems with these guns. I had one minor issue with ammo nose diving into the feed ramp, but I was able to trace that back to a bad magazine. I bought that gun used and I have a strong suspicion the previous owner did something to that magazine. Either way, the guns are solidly built and everyone seems to agree they just run.
I've had the CC4 for about a year; very reliable, quite accurate. I did find (as was common) that the factory sights shot considerably off (can't recall now if it was high or low), and had Dawson install their adjustable rear and a custom made (their stock EMP front sight didn't fit) front F/O.
