I bought one today!

No local shops had them so I bought it on gunbroker for $1086 taxed and shipped.

I plan to do a review on this and am rather excited because I have never been the first to buy anything new I was actually excited about, I got sucked into the colt python reintroduction due to my friend group and was disappointed.

What kind of gauntlet should I make this pistol run when I do get it in.

I mainly want to see the following

Accuracy of 115 grain hollow points
Accuracy with lead bullets
Bullet styles it will feed
Accuracy at 7, 15, 25, 50,75,100 yards

Congrats on the SA35! What didn't you like about the new Python?

I know this sounds fuddish, the new one is not like the original at all in regards to fit and finish and I did not care for the action. Yes it was redesigned to be a "magnum frame" instead of the official police 38 special design. It just reminded me of my stock ruger security 6.

I know other people with the new pythons with higher serial numbers that look entirely different from the one I had as well as have more positiveactions, first generation anything is always a chance.

I wondered who was going to be that guy? Look at it this way, you need to buy a couple more at retail or less so you average that one down.
I'll pay retail for one but I ain't paying to be the 1st. I already have 3 FN Hi Powers though.

Didn't someone on this forum predict that the MSRP on this gun will be going up in 2022? I wonder by how much? And if so, does that make the current MSRP simply an introductory tease?

They are bidding up way over the $699 retail on gunbroker. I can wait for one at retail or lower. Supply will eventually catch up with demand.

OP you weren't the first...I have a 5 page thread on my SA-35. Paid less than MSRP too. However OP enjoy your pistol I love mine haven't shot it much but I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have mine.

I think within 6-9 months it will be a $600 gun at retail OTD.

so it's essentially a regular blued finish allied to a rougher surface? bummer. I struggle with corrosion here in E tx. But that's why God made oil. A little maintenance isn't the end of the world.
I'd rather see a more protective finish. But I understand going with something traditional on this gun. I'd still be happier with a nitrided finish. or cerakote. I'd gladly pay an extra $50 for a better factory finish.

A few weeks ago many of you saw my thread on my SA-35. Well I haven't shot it anymore but I gave it a good cleaning and swapped out the grips.

It wasn't that the wood grips were bad, they are fine. It's that I want to keep the factory wood grips in as good a shape as possible, so I got some Black/Grey G10 type grips from Hogue. They are made for an ambi safety too which I will add next year. They fit perfect and required no fitting at all.

For me the blued finish is a starter before park & paint or hard chrome. I'd rather have the MSRP lower and let me pick how to refinish it.

I've a plain Jane HiPo with service sights and a decidedly heavy trigger (even with the mag safety removed). Been on the horns of improving it, or waiting for the Springer.
I've a really pretty nickel HiPo that I'll keep, but the SA-35 should make a guiltless shooter.
