So I ran into a guy fire selling his springfield 1911 but I noticed something in the pics, the extracter was sticking way out the back. When pointed out the man informed me that that's just how springfield ships them and after a bit of looking it seems to be true
With even stock photos showing proud extracters it also seems to be a gun to gun thing like the end of the extracter gets cut where ever it gets cut then installed as is. The big question is how does springfield get away with it maybe they need some new files down there in Brazil

My Loaded full size stuck out a bit, and it could rotate a bit too, still functioned 100%. It did not cost what a custom does, so I was good with it.

It's a mass produced gun with little or no fitting done to the parts and built to a price point. If you were talking about a Les Baer or Wilson Combat it would be a problem. On a Springfield Armory? Nope.

I have two Springfields. Both are reliable and will shoot groups under 2" @ 50 yards. I have to honestly say I never noted what the extractor "looks" like nor do I much care because of how they perform. YMMV

My two year old 9mm Loaded Target is flush. I've never seen one like that. It would seem it's easy enough to fix one way or the other. Their customer service is excellent. They'd probably be happy to send a proper replacement for free.
