GunsAmerica announced on their blog that Springfield is introducing their 1911 Range Officer in a 9x19mm model. They don't offer a lot of information, except that the new model will be the same size as the existing .45 ACP caliber Range Officer. From the picture, it looks like the new RO will have the same features that made the original RO a good starter out-of-the-box competition model, without a lot of bling, and at a decent price.

I have the Lightweight Operator on my alerts, almost pulled the trigger last week, but changed my mind. It seems to be more gun for the money and was only about a hundred more on Buds. I hate the sights on the RO, and that is a hundred right there.

I've had the Springfield Loaded 9mm 1911 for several years, great gun & very little recoil. I only use the Wilson Elite Tactical Magazines (ETMs) with it, and I highly recommend using the ETMs with any 9mm 1911.
