A good friend was kind enough to send one my way as a gift for the Labor Day weekend.

Overall: 8 9/32 in. 210 mm

Blade: 3 7/16 in. 87 mm
Edge: 3 5/64 in. 78 mm
Blade Steel: CPM-S30V
Lanyard Hole: Yes
Knife Lock: Compression Lock
Handedness: Right Hand Carry
Tip Carry Position: Tip Down Carry

Edge Type: PlainEdge

1) I switch to tip up carry. My preference.

2) The G10 scales feel perfect as far grip and ergos. Simple but excellent.

3) The S30V blade is scalpel sharp. One of the sharpest out of the box knives I have ever used.

4) The tip has an awesome point to it. You can definitely used it for some "toothpicking".

5) The new oversize lanyard hole is great. I added a lanyard to it with ease.

6) I was out taking photographs this AM. I needed to remove some foliage/twigs to get the needed shot. The Para 2 sliced thru whatever it touched.

7) It is one of the smoothest opening knives that I now own. The ease of deployment is excellent.

8) The compression lock on the top of the knife is brilliant. I can open and close...with the blade falling away from my fingers...with one hand.

9) A lot of knife for around $100.

Great looking item.

Nice that Spyderco has a sense of humor, too.

Or maybe they just want the aliens to know where to get a really good knife.

I liked mine a lot but it was too much knife. I carry too much stuff every day to have a handle that large.

Probably it would be my go to if i worked an outside job. It is really usable and does ride pretty comfortably. But just a bit big when not being used for hard tasks regularly.

I carry another Golden knife, a native 5, and couldn't be more pleased.
