Stainless .357 single shot rifle

I saw an older Rossi .357 and decided I had to have one. Does anyone still make a stainless .357 single shot rifle? Not so much as a practical rifle as I just really want one! If there is a single shot bolt action that would work too.

I checked those out. I didn't see stainless in .357 for cva or tc and the ruger bolt action would be at the top of my list if I could swing the funds!

I have the Ruger M77/44 .44 mag and fell in love with it, just what I needed for hogs in close quarters, also bought an old Ruger .44 mag carbine (10/22 on steroids). My next carbine is gonna be the Ruger M77 in .357 mag for my girlfriend...recoil shoud be nil and plenty pop inside 100 yards....single shot rifles...I own a few Ruger No. 1s and No. 3s. I usually stay away from cheap or low priced firearms though one of my favorites is a tack driving Stevens 200 that is a tack driver....say your pennies and get the Ruger.

Yeah, I was just wanting something light that I can plink with. But the ruger would do! Was just hoping for a cheaper single shot

Looks like CVA doesn't do .357 magnum anymore.
.35 Remington works pretty darn good on deer......hunting bud used one last yr to smoke a 200# dressed 150" 9 point.

Could get TC Encore or Contender frame in stainless and if no factory .357 mag bbl available, have one made (MGM and EABCO come to mind).

I've got an old H&R Handi Rifle with a.357 barrel but don't think it ever came in stainless. The Rossi/Taurus lever action is out there but for the same money you can get the Ruger 77/357 which is a much better gun. The Ruger is worth every penny.

I've got a Handi Rifle in .357 but mine is blued. H and R made some stainless but I don't know if they did in the pistol calibers.

Taylor offers a Rolling Block clone in that chambering, I believe.

The cheap options went away when H&R closed up production of the Handi rifles.

But I don't think that they ever came in stainless. If that's a top requirement then I believe you're looking at a stainless TC Contender or Encore option. Or the Rugger 77 mentioned already.

If the Taylor's/Pedersoli baby carbine bitch slapped you in the pocket book then anything else I can think of won't fit your budget either.

Really for light and compact I would think that a Contender rifle with a barely long enough to avoid SBR tax would be the way to go if any woods walking was in the plan. The Encore option would be next up. A bolt action is going to be longer simply due to the nature of the design.

Yeah the stainless one I saw was definitely a Rossi. I might just end up settling for a blued one. We will see!

Look up Rossi R92 in .38/.357. They're all over Gun Broker running between $475-$575 for a stainless lever action.

Contender carbine with 16.25" bbl are a joy to carry, but a nervy deal to shoot offhand well or even with a knee.

Solution is to fill synth forend hollow with epoxy and lead shot.

Now golf balls at 75 yards offhand don't take any effort.

I wanted a 21" bbl but got this one used at a very good price. So short it's kinda freaky.......you look over your shoulder and can see the muzzle with it slung.

If you go Contender get one that didn't have a thumper bbl on it. Some guys shoot those a fair bit and get frame stretch.

The frame on this rifle was originally equipped with a .22 rf pistol bbl

Stainless original easy open or G2 frames are both getting silly in price IMHO.

The trigger is pretty decent.
I really wanted to score a Ruger #1 in .357 and have it converted to .35 Rem (one without the CHP logo on it).
But I got the bbl cheap, then the frame reasonable......in the end have $700 in this pig.
Rather have a falling block for hunting.
But it's paid for.

I'll rebarrel an almost shot out #1 when it comes my way. Even if the regs change to more common centerfire cartridges. I'll have a .35 Rem made.

This then will probably get a .256 win bbl. Just to be different. That or a 6mm-223.
