So if the 10 round mag capacity limit becomes law, Will I be able to still buy 10 round mags for my .458 SOCOM AR?

If so, any AR user could buy them for "Off Label" use. Since they are just standard AR mags. I assume that anyone who has a .458 would have to purchase their mags labeled as such going forward, while anyone caught using a newly purchased, .458 ONLY mag in a 5.56 AR would get into trouble.

Any thoughts? :D

I don't know why they'd check to see if I'm using a .458 SOCOM magazine on a .223 AR-15, since all my .223 rifles were lost in a tragic boating accident.

Hmmmm, sounds like I need to buy a new upper! Only to hunt with, of course...

When you say standard capacity, do you mean the original standard capacity (20 round) or current standard capacity (30 rounds)?

I meant the current, 30 round magazines (5.56/.223) will fit 10 of the .458 SOCOM.

I'd assume 6 or 7 rounds would fit into the 20rd size.

I posted a similar question last week on .50 Beowulf. I would think if they were engraved .50 Beowulf a 30 round .223 mag would become a 9 round Beowulf mag and should be legal if 30 round mags are banned.
