Story here.

I don't shop there regularly, but after this, I'll be sure not to shop there at all.
 
They don't sound any more anti-gun than they do anti-whiskey, anti-cigar, or anti-nudity... they're just anti-controversy, anti-liability, and generally spineless. Their decisions are driven by PR reps and liability lawyers. In short, they're Weenies.
 
staples is a private business, so i guess i have no right to tell them how to run their contest.....

but i can see how legitimate business( alcohol, tobacco and firearms) owners may be a little peeved when they get a letter lumping them in with drug dealers and hate groups.
 
let em know how you feel vote with wallet its only language that matters

To our Left, this story is Faux News promoting a phony culture war (except if you follow commentary threads lefties support the systematic de-legitimization of gun ownership, especially those threads where they are largely talking to their own kind, and their comments are rabidly anti-gun.) We have actually been in a culture war with those who fear guns and loathe gun owners for over a century, which flares up every now or then, but the antigun culture has been there for a long time.

I stopped shopping at Staples a long time ago. I had an issue with a piece of gear that went defective a week before the guarantee ran out. I called them and said I could not get there before it happened and was assured it would be taken care of. I got there 2 days after the expiation date and talked to the exact same employee (got his name that day on the phone) and they denied that I ever called and said no remedy to my problem. Contacted corporate and they did not help either. So far have spent upwards of 40K on computer/network stuff elsewhere in the last few years. I am a SYS /ADMIN for a small local company. I see how they treat the individual consumer and being anti firearm is no surprise to me.:scrutiny:

Quit shopping at Staples after they put up a "no law abiding gun carriers" sign. We go down to Office Max, which has no sign, and have spent a few thousand there.

Very good and refreshing to hear!

It is nice to see more and more companies these days sitting up and taking notice that they really don't want to offend (anyone, really, but especially) those of us who are strong 2nd Amendment supporters.

I doubt Staples would have retracted if there hadn't been so many expressing their displeasure. In my readings on Facebook the anti-"90%" hadn't shown up at all.

I don't work for Staples and never have. That being said, I have a feeling that Stales has nothing against any legal gun dealer, BUT the Staples LEGAL team does.

We can't tell them how to run their business however we can let their shareholders know that we will never buy from them since they hate gun owners.
 
Even if I don't like the action, I support a private entity's right to do something dumb. Freedom includes both RKBA and the freedom to do something dumb, after all.

Must be a local thing. I'd talk to the store manager, or the regional manager. Our (several) DFW, TX Staples stores have no such sign.
