Is anyone out there still making a replacement stock for the Stevens 200 bolt actions? Does it matter if it is a stagger or a centerfeed action?

Same as a the equivalent Savage Model 10/110 action. Just an economy version. The centerfeed magazine is attached to the stock and the stagger feed magazine is attached to the action. Also the action screw spacing is different (on most). Center feed is 4.40", stagger is feed 4.27", although I have seen some reports of a few 4.4" stagger feeds.

Boyds Stocks still lists stocks for Stevens 200s. I bought one several years ago. It worked out well. It was a top bolt release, blind magazine. I don't recall if it was center or stagger feed. The Boyds site may offer some info, or the OP could try calling Boyds.

So Bell Carlson is still makimg a stock for the 200?

The Stevens 200 is just a Savage 110 with some minor changes. Stocks should be interchangeable. BUT.... Savage has made minor changes to their stocks over the years. IIRC there are 3 different versions.

The action screw spacing is different and staggered vs centerfeed matters. I don't know enough about the different versions, but it you find a stock for a Savage 110 from the same generation as the 200 it should fit.

I did the same as gpb. It should have been sold as a reject. Fore end was about 1/4" wider on one side than the other, had to finish inletting it, the cheekpiece was a blob of wood and the grip curve was two angles instead of a curve. No problem as I am a fair hand at woodworking and it turned into a rather nice stock. I went with the Boyd's instead of making one from scratch as I wanted the colors in the laminate as they made a good cammo stock.

I guess I got lucky with my Boyds stock. I bought it about nine years ago. The only adjustment it needed was shimming the blind magazine box forward by 1/16 of an inch. Other than that, everything else was fine.
