My shooting pard has a bolt action 30-30 that went 'click' way too many times yesterday, and I suspect the fring pin is hanging up/sticking in the bolt.

Is taking his bolt apart halfway simple, and could someone describe how it is done?

thanks !!

First with the bolt out of the action decock the striker, the firing pin should stick out of the bolt face. If it doesn't then go on.......

There should be a pin that holds the two halfs of the bolt together, once the part with the bolt handle and bolt head (parts #8 and #13/#16) are seperate,

Providing that firing pin is not broken, after having made sure there is no rust or debris in the inside of the bolt head that hang the firing pin up.

push on the firing pin until you can find part number 6(cocking piece key). this locks the firing pin into the cocking piece so once the pin is set for protrusion from the bolt face it will not move. Remove it and set the firing pin length if needed. Munrich sells the firing pin, mainspring, and cocking piece key.
