My wife and I are interested in getting into competition rifle shooting (we are both beginners) We both like AR15 rifles so HP Service Rifle seems like a logical venue. We would like to use the same rifle but she is petite and I am large so we will need different size butt stocks.
I was reading the rules on the NRA website and it makes two references to stocks:
1 "with standard-type stock, pistol grip, hand guard...."
2 "External alterations to the barrel, upper and lower receivers, stock, hand guard, or pistol grip will not be allowed..."
Is there only one size butt stock available for the appropriate AR15? If shorter lengths are available can a shorter butt stock be used and not violate the rules?
Links to AR15 lower sections and/or butt stocks would be appreciated.
thanks,
