Strangest gun you qualified with

Saw a lot of fancy $1000+, 19-round-capacity guns at my last course (had to get a new CCW after a transfer to a different state). I felt like proving it was more about the shooter than the hardware, so I brought out the wheel gun. I had the only revolver and finished fastest with a perfect score. Think I made my point.

I qualified with a FEG Hi-Power clone. The instructor only counted 18 holes out of the required 20 on the paper target. I put two rounds through the same hole, two different times. :neener: That was an awesome gun. :)

Hello friends and neighbors // S.C. CWP // Stoger American Eagle Luger, .22cal, 11+1, 4".

I have been shooting this .22 since the mid 1980s, non adjustable sights but I have learned to put the groups where I want them. Great little $65.00 semi.

The fellow next to me had a Mac and one lady brought an 8 3/8" repro Colt SAA Buntline.
I'm not sure if they let her use it though.

My P-7 PSP. Instructor had never seen one, after the class I let him shoot it, he later bought one.

Well, see, now, the trick is to shoot the target only once.

The rest off the paper.

Works about half the time. Depends on your audience and how many other holes there are in the target backing.:D

content, if your stoeger is the one I'm thinking of, with the stamped-metal blowback toggle link, I lusted fiercely after one of those when they came out. Finally got a Ruger Standard instead simply because one called to me from under the counter of a gun shop and I just happened to have the exact change in my pocket.

My last in '86 because of a transfer I didn't bother taking any of mine, just used what the instructor had. I could have thrown rocks and passed, he was busy with a lady trying to get her new Jennings to feed. He furnished the ammo so I reshot with a 9 and 10mm just for kicks along with an old issue 4" Smith. He never got the Jennings to fire.

When I took my CCW the instructor strongly recommended we use the various 22lr handguns he’d brought; so I did. I used a Walther p22. It jammed a lot.

One particular lady wanted to use her shrouded hammer snub (1.5 or 2” barrel?) with which she obviously had little or no experience. It was probably a good idea to try and qualify with the weapon she wanted to carry. If nothing else it was educational. I felt bad for her though. She struggled the whole time I was there and was still trying when the rest of the class was leaving.

I don’t know if she ever succeeded with that gun.

My wife qualifed for CWP with a 6-shooter (model-64). At that time, it was the only handgun she had ever shot and had shot it only once prior to the qual shoot. Perhaps the course-of-fire was different in your state?

I had to give proof of my competence to a range once before I could use it. For the lulz, I used a Johnson M1941. That sure got double glances.

I qualified with a new 3" Ruger GP-100 with full house loads. I had not shot that gun prior to the shooting portion of my carry permit training. Didn't shoot quite as well as I normally do, but it was no problem.

Different from what? Fraid your post doesn't make any sense....?

Qualify? We don't have to do no steeenking qualifyin' in Oregon. We do have to take a firearms safety course so we know which end the bullet comes out of though.

Once upon a time, as a young military police dude, I got to be an investigator for a while. Unfortunately, this meant that I had to do quarterly HG qual course with a S&W Model 36 (Chief's Special) .38 SPL revolver rather than my accustomed Colt's Gov't Model 1911A1 ... Needless to say, I stunk, and couldn't even qual Marksman (I always shot Expert with the .45).

When I lived in upstate NY I had to attend classes for a few nights. We qualified with an airsoft pistol. Illegal for you to handle a pistol that was not listed on your permit.
Here in Florida I fired 1 round out of the instructor's 38 revolver at a target that was just far enough away that I could not touch it. Older women in front of me missed the paper. She passed the class.

I had to qualify with an AK for a contract in Iraq. I even carried one in country once or twice. I really really prefer the AR series after that.

NRA range about 6 years ago...everyone else in the class had either a Glock or a .45....I brought what I intended on carrying...my Walter PP...the firearms instructor sorta winced at it, but clearly stated that a functional firearm, carried all the time, was far better than something larger or louder that is left at home. I upgraded to a Commander .45 a few years back, but still, there are occasions when my ol' PP is the concealed carry of choice.

Well- I used the P-38 and passed. Instructor had to modify the course of fire since my magazine would not hold as many rounds as the other students'. Afterwards, they all wanted to look at my "antique".

M72 LAW Part of the Job I had at the time. 1967 in the Army, also 81mm mortar, 106 mm rifle, 90mm rifle

My certificate says I shot a Glock .22 cal. Told the gal doing the paperwork I was going to shoot a Glock 22. Had my 642 with me as well and when the range master said load 5, I figured it would be ideal. So I shot .38 specials from a .40 cal chambered for .22 LR. Sort of. Already had my CCW anyway and was there to meet the team running the course and just get refreshed.
