I'd like to get a light/laser combo for my CZ SP-01 pistol, mostly for home defense and these two seem to pop up frequently. Does anyone have any experience that might be helpful regarding quality of build, reputation, customer service, etc. for Streamlight versus Insight brands, and these types in particular? The Insight is about $20 less than the Streamlight, but that is not a huge deal when they're both around $200. Thanks!

My advice is go with the TLR-2. It is very durable and has a very bright LED. It is made of aluminum, which IMO is better than the plastic construction of the Insight. I also think it looks better, and might be a little less bulky overall.

I will be honest and admit that I've never had experience with any Insight products except for the mini light/laser my brother put on his XD sub-compact. I don't like the incandescent bulb. Has more of a yellow tint to it, whereas the TLR-2 has an ultra bright white light to it.

Go with the TLR-2.

The M lights can melt due to the high heat from the incad bulb. Some of the M lights weren't to spec because they would fall off of the rail when at the range.
