Striker Fired EDC?

Okay this thread got me curious about the Walther P99AS Compact. The concept of being able to choose between Double Action Only, Single Action, or DA/SA somewhat intrigued me. So I went looking around online. I think it may have been discontinued.

I was told they are imported in small batches. The .40 S&W is readily available right now but the 9x19mm is in short supply.
It's why I haven't got one. The dealers that have 9x19mm know you can't just get another one from the distributor and have them priced accordingly.

Can this gun be set up to be DA only, even after the first shot? Is the striker truly at rest with no energy stored in it?

It's usually best to check the DA pull on an unfamiliar handgun when unfamiliar with the type.

Walther P99 AS are imported in small batches?...maybe gun shops have very few for trying the ergos….but .there are Lots of new Walther P99AS "Buy Now" ---this moment---- on Gunbroker (approx. $520: should have the factory test target etc).

You might look for these in a gun shop, simply to know what the SA and DA choices are. It might be gone when you return, but at least you will become familiar with what does Not seem to be found in other striker-fired handguns.
* My gun was ordered literally, Mostly on Faith (the many excellent reports)---having never handled one before clicking the "Buy Now" option. Had only handled the PPQ, therefore the P99's ergos obviously were also excellent (different grip panels are included).

Here's mine for a few months now...

Steyr S9A1:

When I'm wearing heavier clothes or don't plan to take my coat off, I'll take the C9A1 instead (the barrel and slide are identical, so they use the same holsters, but the C holds seven more rounds):

I started with a Werkz Bisect IWB holster:

But I recently picked up a Winthrop Covert IWB, just because I wanted to try a leather holster for a change (except for pocket holsters, I'd only ever used Kydex):

The leather is thicker and bulkier, no question... But somehow it's ridiculously more comfortable than the Kydex. Durability remains to be seen, but if I have to replace the holster every year it's still worth it.

As to the guns themselves, I picked up the C9 about 6 months ago. I saw it on the counter at the local place, and decided to jump on it (the Steyr pistols had been an object of desire since I used to see them on the shelves next to the USPs and P7s back in the late '90s).

When I shot it, I liked it so much I immediately ordered the S9 so I could carry one year-round.

I'm just curious about what NON GLOCK double stack polymer wonder other members EDC? Let's exclude all flavors of Glocks, hammer fired pistols, steel frame pistols, as well as single stacks...

Pictures of your EDC and carry rig are more than welcome and appreciated.
I've been looking at these parameters (polymer, double stack, non-Glock) and I just don't know if Shields qualify, due to the double-stack issue. I'll throw this out there in the event that they do. If not, my apologies to the OP. I'll add that I don't have any pics of my Shields in holsters.

On top, my PC 4" Shield 45, which is a likely contender to become my EDC, assuming I can get the kinks worked out. On the bottom, my Shield 1.0 in 9mm.

And, of course, a pic of the Shield 45, right side up this time.
