By "slam firing" do you mean that the gun fires when you close the bolt?
My Mark V slam-fired on closing the bolt gently. Turns out the trigger group was held to the receiver's bottom by just one screw, which had backed out from recoil/vibrations (I assumed) so the sear couldn't reach the firing pin. I Loctite'd it, snugged it up... and got rid of the rifle.
That makes sense what's happing here maybe. But how do you get to that screw to retoque againMy Mark V slam-fired on closing the bolt gently. When you close the bolt gently or hard it goes offI wondering the same thing. It is very hard to slam fire, a bolt action that way just because the bolt doesn’t reliably have enough free travel under spring pressure to get enough speed and energy to strike the primer properly.

Been trying to remove trigger group but can't seem to remove and I don't have a scope on so no mounts screws holding bolt backAre the scope base screws protruding through the receiver?
Maybe try removing the trigger group since the trigger seems to be malfunctioning also.
