Stupid Ammo Question

Cabelas has had 5.56 55gn brass cased Independence brand ammo in stock for 9.99 for 20 rounds the last few times I stopped in. Not sure what it was before, but it seems to burn pretty clean. I used up my last boxes of TulAmmo which has always run dirty and afterwards I put a few boxes of the Independence ammo through my AR and it cleaned it right up.

I'd just pop into your local store every now and then and take a look.

I saw in todays local paper, a guy had some .223 ammo for sale, $1.50/round! Don't know how long of a line he had outside his house though.... robbin' sucker.

Unless you are expecting armageddon in the near term, I suggest you purchase the most minimal amounts that you need for range and SD work, and wait out this craziness.
Will the prices ever return to pre-election levels? Yea, probably actually. But it will be 6-12 months to cope with the backlog and to stabilize once the uncertainty of the lawmakers work it's way out. After that, you, I and everyone who paid way too much to ammo, guns, range targets, ear-plugs and Ballistol will be kicking ourselves (I filled my basement with overpriced foam ear-plugs!).
So, just keep buying the minimum, unless you're getting in to prepping and you think the meteor/sunspot/whatever is imminent.
