Im a newbie with 2 indoor matches and 5 outdoor level 1 matches. Shooting a g34 in Carry optics.
My friend is a GM and has been giving me tips. The hardest lesson is "pay attention". The last match, stage 6 was a 20rd count with steel. My plan was to load the mag completely full (17rd with a +6 base plate) so i had enough to not reload. Starting UNloaded i had a feed jam right out the gate. Took me about 3 seconds to clear it and soot the targets to the left. Moving to the right i hear "STOP, unload and show clear"
No DQ as i feared, the wind had blown over a steel popper. Reshoot.. yea me. The RO said i was really lucky as i had 4 shot penalties. Seems as i was clearing my misfeed i was outside the box and never stepped back in. Would have been a dissaster of a stage.
Lesson learned. Dont get flustered...
And my nice brother was taking pictures to use against me. Check out my feet as i try to clear my feed jam...
