Stupid question of the week: Why won't some of my drop-free Glock mags drop free?

Yes, they are all "drop-free" versions. Some will, some won't. Some of them will drop free (empty) out of my G23 but won't out of my G22. One or two will drop free empty but won't when loaded full. A couple of my G21 mags won't drop free when empty from my G30, or with the slide back (without the assistance of a round in the mag pushing against the slide). The 2 10-rd G30 mags both drop free perfectly loaded or not. Where should I start looking? around the mag catch notch in the mag?

Anyone else have this issue?

Glocks are made in Austria. Those silly europeans don't really insist upon drop free mags like we do.

I rip my Glock mags out for speedy consistant mag changes. I do this with every gun out there except 1911's.

Glock originally designed to NOT drop free, thinking this was a valuable feature for a military gun to have.

Since then, they've seen the error of their ways.
