Got some new AR mags and tried them out on my old Su-16C rifle. Feed reliability problem fixed . I want to put my old Primary Arms green reflex sight on it, but now remember the past problems screwing it down onto the integral plastic rail atop the rifle. The screw had dug into the side of the rail at a torque level that seemed way too light to trust that the sight was properly attached with the necessary rigidity to hold a zero. The plastic rail seemed much too soft for my comfort. Are there any risers that grip the sides of a rail with metal strips rather than screws? That might fix the digging screw issue. Any other suggestions for securely mounting an optic on a rifle that is all soft plastic externally?
